Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus
Advisor: Kim Schindler Meet: One recess per week Description: Fourth and Fifth Grade chorus provides an additional performance opportunity for students who love to sing. It is open to any interested 4th or 5th grade student. No auditions required. Riverside Admirals Advisor: Kara Baker Meet: Meet every other Tuesday 12:45 Description: The Riverside Admirals is a voluntary 5th grade leadership club. Students create, organize and facilitate service projects. They help with events at school and help any adults with projects at school. Admirals are often asked to help at PTA events as well. After School Sports Coordinator: Chad Stigler Advisor: Various Riverside Staff Members Meet: Tuesdays 3:40 – 4:25 Description: After school sports is a free program offered to 4th and 5th grade students every other Tuesday. The program consists of four sport sessions and each session lasts four weeks. After school sports runs on the opposite Tuesday of After School Chess Club. If your student has “sports” on a certain Tuesday, they have the option of having “chess” on the following Tuesday. Busing is provided for Milwaukee students only. All other students must be picked up promptly by 4:25 p.m. Super Kids Coordinator: Chad Stigler Advisor: YMCA Staff Meet: Thursday’s Description: Super Kids is a YMCA sponsored program on Thursdays from 3:40 – 4:25 p.m. The 45 minutes class is based on the students’ favorite super heroes. The focus is to build body awareness, strength and confidence while playing games, circuit training, and running like never before. The program is open to students in grades 2-5 and the cost is usually $10 - $12 (depending on the length of session 8-10 weeks). Busing is provided for Milwaukee students only. All other students must be picked up promptly at 4:25. Riverside Seniors and Students Coordinator: Sue Hjelsand Tutors: Various Meet: School Days Description: Riverside Seniors and Students is an exciting inter-generational tutoring program. Tutors come from all walks of life and are interested in helping the children of this school. New tutors are always welcome. Please contact Sue Hjelsand at 262-250-6465 for more information. Chess Club Coordinator: Renee Doll Advisor: Various Riverside Staff Meet: Alternating Tuesdays from 3:40 - 4:25 Description: Chess club is open to all 4th and 5th grade students who are interested in learning how to play chess. The students will be able to participate in a chess tournament as well. A student can join for one session of all four sessions that are offered. |
